Growing up Kamilah always seen her Grandmother as a caretaker. Kamilah always wanted to be just like her grandmother and help to heal the sick. At first Kamilah wanted to be a nurse but all that quickly changed. Until one day on a brief trip to South Carolina her Grandmother had fallen ill to an infection called Sepsis. Sepsis is a serious medical condition that is characterized by a whole-body inflammatory state (called a systemic inflammatory response syndrome or SIRS) and the presence of a known or suspected infection.
Nobody really knew how her grandmother had contracted Sepsis or where it even came from. All anyone knew was that it was very contagious. From that day forward Kamilah made up in her mind that she wanted to help assist in finding a cure for Sepsis but it was too late. Her grandmother had passed away from Sepsis on December 17, 2008. It hurt Kamilah to her heart to know that her Grandmother
